The Team is Growing!
We’re excited to announce the newest member of the Onehope Refuge Team, Rebecca Quick, Chief Operating Officer.

Rebecca’s journey began at age 17 when she had an encounter with Jesus and sensed a call to Christian ministry. She earned her degree in Christian Outreach with a minor in Family Studies. She is passionate about walking with others through challenging circumstances, encouraging them to understand God’s purpose for their lives.
A verse that guides her life is Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Rebecca has served individuals and families in various settings from residential faith-based recovery ministry to group homes, Christian schools to a city-wide ministry who shares Christ with people who are experiencing homelessness and are under-resourced as well as directing a team at an emergency safe house for women exiting trafficking. Her experiences have been primarily in non-profits allowing her insight regarding complexities involved in such impactful organizations.
She shares life with her husband and their three teenage children. Transplants from the Midwest in 2019, they have been building their lives here in North Carolina enjoying the warm weather and easy access to the beach and mountains where they like to explore all the towns, history, and local favorites.
Hope in Action

We know we aren’t supposed to “brag,” but this time we simply must.
We are so proud of one of our moms who has recently taken several major steps toward independence. She has started a new job and has spent the last couple of weeks in training. Prior to beginning work, she devoted an entire week to volunteering at a local outreach event. And if that wasn’t enough, her little one has started daycare as well.
So many positive transitions. So many milestones worth celebrating. All things that should be good for the heart and the ego, right?
But healing is rarely that simple.
As we watch the women in our care embrace exciting steps forward, experience seasons of tremendous growth, and engage in the incredibly hard work of rebuilding their lives, we also witness the other side of healing.
Often, we watch a mother begin taking a deep dive in counseling into painful memories that for years were buried beneath layers of survival and self-protection. As those memories come to the surface, grief often follows close behind.
Questions emerge:
“How could someone do this to me?”
“Am I anything like the people who hurt me?”
The process of facing painful experiences can bring physical exhaustion, anxiety, stress, sadness, and even pain in the body itself. Yet we continue to witness remarkable courage as these women choose to clear away the cobwebs and bring every wound, every question, and every fear into the light—right where they know Jesus will meet them and fight for them.
Psalm 40:2 says, “He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.”
Please join us in praying for the women we serve as they willingly step into the muck and mire of healing, trusting that Jesus is meeting them there and leading them toward solid ground. We celebrate their bravery, their perseverance, and the beautiful work God is doing in their lives.
