defendHERs –
As we approach the holiday season, I’d like to take a moment and again, express our deepest gratitude for your steadfast love and support of Onehope Refuge. Two years ago, God placed this ministry on my heart. He illuminated the absolute horrors of human/sex trafficking. He set me – and now our team – in motion. Nine months ago, we opened our doors to deserving families. Today, we are “home” to seven incredible survivors. Next week, together as brothers and sisters in Christ, we’ll celebrate our first-ever Thanksgiving at Onehope Refuge.
To God be all the honor and all the praise. 🤍
Behind the scenes here, it truly does take a village. 24/7 in-home care coordinators, doctors, therapists, teachers, social workers, volunteers, and our visionary Board of Directors.
Joe Shadden and Darlene Smith have been with us since the beginning. They’ve listened, advised, shown up and most importantly, poured love and grace into our home. Recently, we asked them to reflect on their Onehope Refuge “why.” We asked them to share their journey. Their stories. We asked them to offer defendHERs – like you – a glimpse into how your generosity makes a meaningful difference EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

#GivingTuesday is quickly approaching.
📅: December 3, 2024!
#GivingTuesday – a global movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity – was created with one simple idea in mind: the world could use a day where together, we all do good! A day where we commit to kindness and we act on it! Whether it’s offering a smile, a helping hand, an hour of time, a donation – these gestures create a ripple effect … collectively, they become part of something much larger than ourselves. If you’re in a position to give this season, would you consider Onehope Refuge on #GivingTuesday, 12/3?
Your support makes an immediate difference for the women and children in our care now and in the future too. Each week, we receive calls from agencies desperate to place families. Families who want to escape, but have no place to go. We long to serve them. We believe we can. We believe we will. In God’s time. In His way. With you by our side. Thank you so very much.
Psalm 118:29 says, “Give thanks to The Lord for He is good. His love endures forever.”
