Praise be to the Lord! One year ago, on March 1, 2024, the doors of Onehope Refuge opened. Since that day, we have witnessed the Lord’s mighty hand at work—restoring hope, healing hearts, and changing lives. We stand in awe of how He continues to use this ministry for His glory.

This past year has been filled with triumphs, challenges, and moments that have deepened our trust in Him. The past few months, in particular, have been one of the hardest seasons of ministry. A beautiful family who came to us in August has exited our care. When a family leaves, — it ripples through our entire team, our volunteers, and even those in the community who came to love them.

Walking alongside these women and children, witnessing the scales fall from their eyes, and pouring into them the love of Christ creates deep relationships. And when that season comes to an end, it’s not easy.

The truth is, in this ministry, we will mourn when women and children we’ve grown to love leave. But we take great comfort in knowing that nothing is wasted in the hands of our God. Every prayer, every lesson, every moment of love sown into their lives is for Him. And He is faithful to complete the work He begins.

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” –— 1 Corinthians 15:58
